About MFG Tech Review

MFG Tech Review helps small and midsize manufacturers choose production technology without reading every vendor's website. Every platform is scored on the same 15 published criteria, so the comparison is like-for-like.

How platforms are scored

Each platform is rated on 15 criteria, scored 1 to 10. Those roll up into the Machine Intelligence Score, a 100-point composite weighted across six dimensions. The weights are published and the score is computed from them, so anyone can reproduce it. No platform has paid to be included or to influence its score.

How platforms are selected

The current set came from a sweep of the machine monitoring category, chosen to cover the platforms a manufacturer is likely to encounter. New platforms are added when readers ask for them.

How reviews are researched

These are desk reviews. Scores come from published pricing and documentation, product research, and user reviews, rather than from hands-on deployment. Figures supplied by a vendor are attributed to that vendor.

Who writes them

Reviews are written and maintained by the MFG Tech Review editorial team. The site began publishing in 2026.
